Everyone is excited and running around about Mötley Crüe and Elton John, among many other artist, being given the biopic treatment this year. That’s cool and all but let’s talk about the fact that punk icons the Sex Pistols influenced the come up of so many bands that came after them, and now a Sex Pistols related movie is in the works.
A Starlight Films’ filmmaker spoke with the Daily Star and said it would focus on two people who are at the heart of the everything Sex Pistols related: Malcolm McLaren, manager, and his girlfriend, Vivienne Westwood, fashion designer.
The Sex Pistols may not have a lot of commercial appeal and they may have officially only released just one studio album, but if you wanted to know what punk really was like on and off stage with disdainful songs lie “God Save the Queen” and “Anarchy in the U.K.,” then they were your “how to” guide.
Casting is rumored to be just getting started.
